Nutrition Myths and Facts

The following report about nutrition, myths, and facts is contrary to the majority beliefs of most medical doctors, cardiologists, and others that are considered to be experts in the area of heart disease. It is my intention in this article to educate anybody who has an open mind to discovering the truth.

The points listed below will be explained more fully as the article uncovers the myths and facts about nutrition.

Myth #1: High Cholesterol Kills

  • Cholesterol is a foreign substance to the body, but there’s no way to get rid of it.
  • Heart disease is caused by eating foods that are high in cholesterol.
  • Foods that are high in saturated fat from animals cause hardening of the arteries and lead to heart disease.ID-10045366
  • Sound health is determined by low cholesterol.
  • Children on a low-fat diet have a lower risk of heart problems.
  • Low-fat diets will make you feel more healthy.
  • Margarine should be substituted for butter.
  • Vegetarians and vegans have a longer life span.

Myth #2: Statin Drugs are the Best Treatment for Heart Disease

  • Statin drugs release myoglobin (protein) into the bloodstream, which may cause kidney/liver/pancreas damage.
  • They can permanently destroy muscle tissue, leading to death.
  • These drugs cause side effects – more than 900 studies prove their adverse effects.
  • Statin drugs can increase the risk of cancer, anemia, sexual dysfunction, neuropathy, cataracts, and memory loss

Fact #1: Low Cholesterol Kills

  • Fatal heart attacks occur twice as often in older people with low cholesterol.
  • In clinical studies, older people with high cholesterol lived longer.
  • Cholesterol is not the cause of heart disease.
  • In one scientific test of 68,000 patients, it was found that cholesterol protected them from deadly infections.
  • Cholesterol reduces the chances of contracting Parkinson’s disease.
  • In worldwide studies, depression and suicide have been related to high cholesterol.

Fact #2: Statin Drugs Are Dangerous

  • The side effects of statin drugs include acute muscle pain, weakness, lethargy, and fatigue.
  • Elderly patients experience increased memory loss as a result of taking statin drugs.
  • The risk of diabetes increases when using statins, especially in postmenopausal women (up to 71% chance of developing diabetes).
  • Statin drugs increase the risk of heart attacks.
  • Statins are bad for the brain. Here are just a few reasons why:
    1. Statin drugs inhibit the production of cholesterol, which brain function is dependent upon.
    2. Statins adversely affect the production of CoQ10, which is essential to the life of brain cells.
    3. Statin drugs have a negative effect upon the brain cell proteins, causing its structure to be compromised.

 A Roadmap to Healthy Living

I have found several nutritional products and a lifestyle eating plan that can help a person to live longer. When it comes to having a healthy heart, it is not enough to maintain a low cholesterol, fat-free diet, or any other one you have found out there. And, of course, do not be intimidated by the media produced in the medical community that encourages the use of pharmaceutical drugs as the only cure to heart disease, diabetes, and numerous other ailments.

Statin drugs will not save lives. In fact, there has never been any scientific study that proved that lowering cholesterol prolonged longevity. Most of what you read and hear is medical propaganda that is designed to listen to the “experts.” The truth is that the big pharmaceutical companies are more interested in bottom line profits than creating healthier patients. For example, Lipitor has an annual sales over $12 billion a year, while Zocor and Crestor have sales of $4.4 billion and $3 billion, respectively.

Let me pause here to say that this is not an attack upon the medical profession, because I have found a few doctors and scientists that are sincerely interested in helping their patients with natural alternatives. Check out their comments here.

Listed below are some suggestions to getting you on a path to a healthier lifestyle. Only you can make the choice about what is best for you. My sole purpose in writing this article is to provide the information that you can digest (pun intended) to make your life the best that it can be.

  1. Hey, I loved reading this. I work in the pharmaceutical field so I’m very exciting every time I see a post like yours 🙂
You’re totally right about these myths, actually there are 2 types of cholesterol, LDL and HDL. LDL is the bad one, while HDL is the good one, necessary for everyone.
It’s true that a high level of LDL is dangerous, but a low level of HLD is extremely dangerous, and can easily kill. That’s exactly what you were saying, that low colesterol can kill. It’s actually the other type of cholesterol (HDL), not the popular one (LDL), which is known for being dangerous in a high level. But HDL it’s still cholesterol and it is dangerous in a low level, so thanks for letting people know about this 🙂

    1. Thanks for your feedback. It’s good to hear about one more person in the medical field that is in agreement with my perspective. Pharmaceuticals are not the answer to our health problems.

Please visit my site again, and I appreciate any referrals that you may have.

Make it a healthy and productive day!

  2. Very good layout. Well organized. I use the same theme on one of my websites. I like how your page just doesn’t try to sell products. It gives away free valuable information the visitor can use. If he or she decides to purchase something then that is good, but if not they still can leave with something. Good for business.

    1. Thanks for your positive feedback. I really do want to post information that can provide resources that will help people make good decisions and choices in regards to their health. And you are correct in regards to purchasing products on my site. This is a business that I am building to help provide additional income as the “retirement” years loom ahead.

If there’s anyone you know that would benefit from taking a look at my site, I would definitely appreciate the referral as well. Let me know if I can be of any assistance to you in the future with any questions or comments you may have.

      Make it a great day!

  3. this is a very interesting post that you have here on the myths surrounding health and nutrition. I just have to wonder on your myth#1 that says: Fatal heart attacks occur twice as often in older people with low cholesterol.
â—¾In clinical studies, older people with high cholesterol lived longer.
I am really confused here, am I reading this correctly? I thought it was the other way around of course I am not a health expert. I am glad you brought this to my attention I will have to research this more.
    Thanks for your information

    1. Thanks for your expedient reply from yesterday. The issue of high cholesterol can be confusing. So let me clarify this for you. There are 2 types of cholesterol, LDL and HDL. LDL is the bad one, while HDL is the good one, and necessary for everyone.

•A high level of LDL is dangerous, but a low level of HLD is extremely dangerous, and can easily kill. It’s actually the other type of cholesterol (HDL), not the popular one (LDL), which is known for being dangerous in a high level.

      • HDL is dangerous in a low level

I hope this clarifies things for you. Let me know if you have any further comments or questions. Please visit my site again, and I appreciate any referrals to it that might help someone you know or meet.

  4. Hi Allan
I am a pharmacist by profession and I am all for natural therapies.

I try my level best to educate my clients about natural lifestyle modifications and treatment options.

I can’t tell them to stop the medication, but I can make them aware of the potential side effects. That is my job, to be a medicine specialist.

I don’t make the ‘dangers’ of statins a secret to them, and the big picture with companies and monopoly, is very evident to me.

I love what you are doing here.More people should be informed, so that they can make better decisions regarding their health.

    Keep it up

    1. Thanks for you feedback. I’m glad to hear that we are on the same page in regards to natural solutions to health problems. As you stated, it is my goal to inform and to see the overall picture of health in this country (and perhaps around the world) be transformed.

I appreciate any referrals that people like yourself may offer.

Make it a great day, filled with health and happiness!

  5. I am a huge fan of natural solutions. I never really thought about coconut oil. I have just been using it for the stretch marks on my legs because they are bad. How could I apply this for heart health? Do I need to buy it in a different form or apply it to the area?

I am a strong believer that the pharmaceutical industry is there to make money. They control the FDA, and that it why natural solutions don’t ever get approved though they are safer and more effective… Our heart health is nothing for them to play with, but they are doing it….

    Thanks for spreading the word…

    – Chris

    1. Thanks for your reply. In regards to coconut oil, I suggest that you purchase only organic coconut oil. Its best use is in your cooking (as much as you like). You can purchase it on Amazon (I have a link on my site), or in a larger quantity at Costco. You can still continue to apply it topically.

You are right in stating that the pharmaceutical industry is primarily focused on their bottom line. I will continue to promote and recommend natural solutions to health problems regardless of whether I make more money. People helping people should not be dependent upon one’s personal financial gain.

Have a great day filled with good health.

  6. Very informative post.

I totally agree with you on pharmaceutical companies are in it for the money. I am not sure where I heard it from but it has been said that medical schools have an agreement with pharmaceutical companies if people have a disease to prescribe them a medication.

It is unfortunate, because taking medicines most of the time does not cure the problem. It only masks the problem. In addition, taking medicines can mask the existing problem and also create additional problems from side effects of the medicine.

I believe it is all about our diet and exercise. My husband is a non believer of taking medications. He sees the side effects of his dad taking medicines and he believes in diet and exercise. He had high cholesterol at one point and he just started eating healthy and exercising and his cholesterol became normal.

It can be done and we don’t have to depend on medicines all the time.

    1. Thanks for your reply. Keep up the good job in staying healthy. If you know anybody who struggles with high blood pressure, diabetes, etc. please refer them to my site

  7. Real nice site and much needed. Especially Medical Dr.s also don’t tell you how beta-blockers leach minerals you need such a s potassium and magnesium. Also have you heard of the study that just came out of Sweden ? It says that Ubuiquitol PLUS Selenium increases the effectiveness of both and persists years after you stop taking them together you must look into that study ! I can give you details if you email me ………best of luck

  8. This is and awesome post and thanks for sharing, The world is becoming more and more aware of the need for good health because many are dieing every year because of not taking care of there health like they suppose to. Now this article that you are sharing here on myths and facts about nutrition is so great and is a real eye opener. I believe that this post needs to get into the hands of much people as possible because this explains and clarifies a whole lot of stuff that relates to health. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thanks for your reply and encouraging words. I appreciate all the help I can get in getting this into the hands of as many people as possible. I continue to post on social media sites, but the traffic on my site is not happening. If you, or any of your associates can help by getting the word out, that would be great.

  9. How can something this damaging still be used on that big a scale. Surely the majority of doctors have taken notice that statin drugs clearly aren’t what they’re cracked up to be.

Hopefully the message will spread to the rest sound enough and doctors will start advocating healthier and more effective drugs. You can just tell by the passion in that guys voice, in the second video, that statins aren’t to be messed with.

    1. It is time for many doctors to wake up to the truth. The use of statins, and many other pharmaceutical drugs, are literally killing people. I have presented many natural alternatives for general and heart health.

I am hopeful as well that the content of my site will stimulate the growth of better health in the world. In my opinion, it is ludicrous to believe that there could be healthy and effective drugs. It is, in a large sense, an oxymoron. Or perhaps just moronic.

So, if you know of anybody that is seeking to know the truth, please refer them to my site,

  10. Thank you for the thorough resource list. What you are saying is so true. It took a lot of guts for me to tell my dad that he should eat grass fed meat and not take cholesterol medication but that is precisely what he is doing now. I will be happy to share this site with him to see if any supplements would be of interest to him. He just came off of lots of medication.

    1. I hope my site can be of great benefit to your dad. If you have any further questions or comments, please send me a private message
